Club connecting to the NBN
You may have seen evidence of works in the carpark. Your club is connecting to the NBN which should result in greatly improved telephone and internet services which have plagued the Club for sometime. The good news is the NBN is paying for the cost of the cable and the installation. We expect there will be significant cost savings for our telecommunications suit. Once the connection is finalized in the next few months.
Handicap Carpark pole
We are aware that the steel pole in the carpark has been run into many times by member vehicles. Given that any vehicle carrying a handicapped person could access a vacant space by parking facing south we think that the pole is not essential and have not replaced it since it was last hit.
Kayo sports connection plan
We have been paying $610 per month for a Foxtel connection the board has decided that the annual expenditure of $7,320 cannot be justified. We will be replacing Foxtel with a Kayo Sports subscription service once the NBN connection is completed.
Asset refurbishment projects
Some of you may wonder where your contributions to the asset refurbishment fund go. The Club house is an older building and the equipment in it needs ongoing maintenance. This month we have had to replace the condenser in the Bar to keep your tap beer cold as well as repairing the meter on the railway bore which supplies most of the Club’s reticulation water. If we get any change out of $5,000 we will be doing well. Next month we plan to replace the doors in the ladies changerooms although this is not a big job.
Outstanding 2020 Fees
All playing members are reminded that if you have not paid your 2020 fees or supplied the Club with an updated direct debit form to replace the old Prycap form your playing rights will be suspended from close of business Friday 14th February (regardless of Valentines Day) Please let the office know if you will not be renewing your membership.
Congratulations to Bernadette Fee on hitting a hole in one!

Congratulations to our Head Professional Tristan on being a finalist for Australian Professional of the Year last month. 🎉
I had the pleasure of attending the Greg Norman Medal awards. I was a nominee for the Club Pro of the Year. Unfortunately I didn’t get the job done but it was an absolute honour to mix with my peers, professionals like Adam Scott and Cameron Smith and also members who have been apart of this great organisation for longer than I’ve been alive.
Massive shout out to Hannah Green for being awarded the Greg Norman Medal for such a great 2019. You’ve done WA proud.
Thanks to my beautiful wife Kara for being by my side and supporting me this year.
Bigger and better things to come for 2020.
Honorary Secretary - Chris Bennett
The second annual Woman’s induction has concluded approximately 36 Woman participated. 16 of which have converted to a playing membership. This was an excellent result.
We have several groups of visitors recently, including those in social groups holding memberships at other clubs. They have been very complimentary about the state of our course.
Please contact us as soon as you can advising of us of your intention if you will not be renewing your membership or if you wish to pay your 2020 subscriptions by monthly debit.
Those of you who have paid your fees in advance will be pleased to know that your credits for 2020 bar vouchers have been entered onto your bar accounts. The draw for 6 lots of $100 bar vouchers will be held later this month and the results announced at a later date. This is a very busy time for the office as we prepare the annual accounts ready for audit so we would appreciate your cooperation.
In accordance with the changes made to the Club's constitution at the 2019 annual general meeting, if you have not paid your fees by now or supplied us with a direct debit form indicating you wish to pay your fees by instalments you can expect to receive an email from us shortly advising that your playing rights have been suspended. We are very reluctant to do this.
Sea Horse Squadron
Squadron leader Victor Strzina had let the troops on several sorties with the objective of raising the fairway sprinklers to the level of the fairway. The new reticulation piping was put in over 10 years ago and this has been overgrown since then. To date squadron operations have cleared the first and second fairways and 50% of the 9th.
Sorties will recommence towards the end of summer. If you want to coin you celebrated squadrons call sign this is your big chance. Sorties are usually conducted on Monday mornings so watch out for announcements.
Remembers it's OK not to be OK
Stu Campbell is a member at the Club and is also one of our 2020 sponsors.
Last month Stu also known as MrWallpaper painted one of our trees blue. Why you ask? The tree is to engage people to talk about mental health and ask each other, R U OK?
Such a simple question can create an impact that we may not even know about.
Next time you are down here at the club (or anywhere for that matter) ask your golfing buddy how they’re doing.
Congratulations to Steve Joski on hitting a hole in one!
Steve managed to roll it into the 4th hole! well done on your first hole in one!

I would like to inform members that there will be a suggestions box placed at the left end of the bar for the month of January. I encourage members and guests to write and place any feedback positive or negative as well as any suggestions or ideas they may have in relation to the Club.
In an effort to continue making improvements here at the Club it is vital we know what you are all thinking.
You may choose to print your name or remain anonymous and please also feel free to talk with me personally.
I'm sure most our our members have already met our 2 new Bar Staff, Pernille and Rigby.
If you haven't already then please say hi and introduce yourselves :)
Below I've shared a promotional flyer which you will find inside the dining caddies in the club house.
If you are interested in trying this wine please don't be shy, come up to the bar and ask for a taste.
